Hey ladies! If you are downsizing your makeup stash [what is this crazy woman talking about?], and getting rid of all of those old mascaras, I got just the thing for you! Eddie Funkhouser Quattro Variable Mascara is literally four mascaras in one. Most of the effect provided by mascaras comes from the brush, and each tube only got one, right? Quattro Variable Mascara features a revolutionary twist and turn technology that lets you choose your wand from four possible settings.

Separates the lashes and coats them with a thin layer of color for that perfect daytime look.

•• Need some volume? This setting makes the lashes appear denser and thicker by slightly combing them together at the base. I use this one daily, by the way.

••• This setting enhances the volume even further, and makes my lashes look a mile long.

•••• Boom!! POW!! Who needs falsies when you can get this much length, volume, and drama with just mascara alone, am I right?

Three coats of ••

My lashes aren’t necessarily short, but they are stick straight and point down, so what I personally look for in mascara is how well it can hold a curl. I normally use a heated lash curler, then immediately apply two coats of mascara. I’m pretty picky when it comes to mascara, so here are the things I consider important:

How well does the wand define my lashes? If the wand is unable to properly brush the lashes, they will be clumpy and feel very heavy at the base. I hate that!

How thick is the formula? I admit, I have a special place in my heart for thicker formulas because they dry quickly and seal the curl I just achieved with my eyelash curler.

How well does it hold the curl? I don’t really know all the deets, but some mascaras contain waxes that can hold the curl all day long.

Does it play well with oily eyelids? Probably my most important criteria, because panda eyes are the worst thing about mascaras. It can be awesome at everything else, but if it smudges easily or melts from just body temperature, it’s not for me.

If you are picky like me, then you will be thrilled to know that Eddie Funkhouser Quattro Variable Mascara meets all of my criteria for an awesome mascara and then some. While waterproof quality is not necessarily on my “must have” the list, this formula stands up to water really well, and can even be a bit tricky to remove. I used a combination of Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil and Erno Lazslo Multi-Phase Makeup Remover to get it off my eyes, so it’s safe to say that an oily cleanser is a must.

Do you need this? You bet! At $12.99 this little miracle is going to replace the need for any other mascaras, with the formula that is right up there with the best of the best at the top of Mt. Olympus.
