Any fellow dieters out there, trying to shed off a few lbs this Summer? I swear, the more I try to restrict myself, the more I crave those very same treats. To keep myself sane[‘ish], I try to somewhat satisfy my cravings by using beauty products scented with delicious sweets, and there’s nothing I want more right now than a huge chocolate bar, loaded with a mountain of caramel and sprinkled with all sorts of nuts. Looks like this Cacao Memebox arrived just in time.

HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. Prices vary depending on the type of the box. Memebox ships internationally, so make sure to check on their website and see if they ship in your country – chances are they do. All themed boxes tend to sell out fast, so by the time you read this review this particular box might not be available for sale anymore.

Etude House Milk Talk – it’s like I’m showering with Nesquik!

Etude House Milk Talk – Memebox usually introduces us to smaller Korean brands that most of us never heard of, but it’s exciting to see them working with internationally-known giants like Etude House. This shower cream is absolutely adorable, and smells like milk chocolate. Obviously I’m head over heels in love with it!

WondeRuci Cacao Brightening Mask – sleek packaging looks very classy.

WondeRuci Cacao Brightening Mask – it really smells like chocolate. REAL chocolate.

WondeRuci Cacao Brightening Mask – The second I saw this box spoiler, I knew I had to get it, because I actually saw a raving review of this mask on one of the blogs I follow. It’s every bit as fabulous as I expected it to be! The mask comes in a sturdy jar made of thick matte glass, adorned with a mirror-like cap [it could actually work like a mirror, I can see my reflection clearly in it], making the whole thing look quite fancy. So what’s so cool about this mask anyway? Well, first of all it smells like chocolate. Second: since it’s a thermal mask, it will immediately make your face feel warm when you apply it. Third: it makes the skin look brighter after just one application. Fourth: did I mention chocolate? WondeRuci is a professional brand used in Korean SPAs and salons, so it’s not surprising that this formula was gentle, effective and even provided some aromatherapy [I wanted to eat my face off].

Evas Vitamin Cleansing Dessert Cream Soap  – the outer box is so adorable!

Evas Vitamin Cleansing Dessert Cream Soap – looks like a jar? That’s pretty new!

Evas Vitamin Cleansing Dessert Cream Soap – thick creamy paste inside, that feels like nougat.

Evas Vitamin Cleansing Dessert Cream Soap – The name itself already makes me hungry, but the coconut-chocolate fragrance is even better. This thick cleansing paste comes in a jar: you just scoop it out, foam it up with your palms, then apply that foam to your face, gently massaging it into wet skin, and finally wash it off with lukewarm water. This is actually the classic Korean cleansing method, they usually first foam up their cleanser and only then apply it to the skin, vs. the Western method of applying the cleanser directly to the face.

Purederm Nose Pore Strips Choco Cacao – smaller than Biore strips, these are surprisingly grippy.

Purederm Nose Pore Strips Choco Cacao – Korean nose strips are the only ones I buy these days, but I never tried these specifically. The shape of the strip is a bit different from my usual Biore and a bit smaller, too, so I thought it would be less effective. Nope! It had some serious grip strength and easily won the tug-of-war against my clogged pores. I didn’t notice much of a chocolate scent though, just some light chemical fragrance, but I really liked how effective these were.

Pure Smile Choosy Lip Scrub – packaging looks like a bag of snacks. Kinda cool, actually!

Pure Smile Choosy Lip Scrub – actually, looks pretty delicious in the jar, and smells nice, too.

Pure Smile Choosy Lip Scrub – caption pretty much sums it up. No scrubbies = no exfoliation = bad lip scrub.

Pure Smile Choosy Lip Scrub – I thought this lip scrub was fairly ineffective, because I had to fish for sugar crystals all the time. I loved the scent, but that’s not enough to make me want to use it. Too bad, because I actually really like Choosy lip masks.

Pure Smile Essence Mask Chocolate Milk – looks lovely already. I look forward to trying it!

Pure Smile Essence Mask Chocolate Milk – This sheet mask is going straight into my mask box, so I am going to use it eventually, just not right now. The packaging sure looks tasty, I wonder how good it smells! Memebox says that it works best for uneven skin tone, which is exactly what I need right now.

THE VERDICT
I feel like I just ate ten pounds of chocolate without consuming any calories, because my body feels heavenly! Despite being marked as a “Special” box, Cacao edition really deserves to be called a Superbox, since all of the products inside were full-sized; isn’t that generous of them? I feel like this was probably one of my favorite Memeboxes I received so far.
