July was the last month of Le Metier de Beaute Beauty Vault VIP 2013 program, and they sure sent us a nice farewell gift. In this final shipment members received a Limited Edition Gemini Kiss Lip Kaleidoscope, exclusive to Vault VIP program, and not sold anywhere else.

After receiving overwhelming feedback from fans and members, LMdB is making the 2014 Vault VIP experience more customized. The first shipment that goes out in August will contain a special survey card that members can fill out with their product shade preferences, and the company will do their best to accommodate every request. Also, all members of 2013 program that renew for 2014 will receive a special extra as a thank you gift for sticking around. Now that’s what I call incentive!
The July Kaleidoscope contains eight half-pans with a nice mix of brights and neutrals, matte lipsticks and creme & shimmery lip glosses. The variety here is outstanding, and even though the pans might seem a but small, I honestly don’t remember the last time I finished a tube of lipstick or lip gloss [okay, I do actually remember one time with a gloss and two lippies, but that’s not the point], so this Kaleidoscope will serve me on many different occasions.
The pan duo colors are as follows, from top to bottom:
First drawer – cool true mauve matte lipstick + cool tea rose creme lip gloss
Second drawer – cool bright fuchsia matte lipstick + cool carnation pink creme lip gloss
Third drawer – warm geranium pink matte lipstick + warm rosy mauve lip gloss with fine gold & iridescent shimmer
Fourth drawer – warm bright coral red matte lipstick + warm pink pearl lip gloss with fine gold & iridescent shimmer
The lipsticks all have great creamy formula that applies well with a brush. The staying power is quite impressive, as I got well over 6 hours of wear from all four shades that I tested, even after eating and drinking. The color wears off evenly, so I could just let it slowly fade away without needing any touchups. All colors leave behind a nice stain, and the tint stays on the lips even when the original formula is gone.
The glosses all felt buttery smooth, almost like moisturizing lip butters. As you can see from swatches, only color #4 showed up on my lips, the rest just provided some nice gloss, shimmer and moisture. Colors #6 and #8 look almost identical on the lips, but you can see subtle difference in arm swatches. The colors wear off after 2 hours, or sooner if you drink or eat, which is about average on me.

THE VERDICT
I am absolutely in love with Gemini Kiss Kaleidoscope, especially the lipsticks. All of these pans will see a lot of use, and when they’re empty I will probably depot my own lipsticks and lip pencils into these molds, because this palette is perfect for travel. I think this was a great parting gift for 2013 Vault VIP Club members, and I hope to see more familiar faces in the 2014 program. Personally, I didn’t need a whole lot of convincing to re-subscribe for another year, because I actually love and use most of the items I received from LMdB.
