Milani says that Brilliant Shine glosses are “moisturizing and non-tacky”, provide “rich color, extreme high shine, and comfortable lasting wear”, while “the flexible sponge-tip applicator makes application easy”.

Brilliant Shine glosses all come in clear plastic tubes topped with reflective golden caps. Visually that design is very appealing, however, the caps tend to keep the fingerprints, making them look dirty. The sponge tip paddle-shaped applicator is slightly curved, which makes applying these glosses easy even without the mirror. Also, for those of you who are sniffers like myself, Brilliant Shine glosses smell like vanilla cupcakes!

Coral Crush is a creamy warm coral tangerine, perfect for anyone looking to try the orange lips trend, which seems to be everywhere this Spring, without the boldness of a full-coverage bright lipstick.

Sweet Grapefruit is a creamy warm coral pink, a very lovely shade that can look flattering on just about anyone, and it pairs well with all shades of pink and mauve lippies if you ever need to add some shine.

The texture of both glosses is slightly sticky and feels like thick syrup, which is kind of nice, because it evens itself out every time after you smudge your lips together. The color intensity is probably best described as semi-opaque, because it gives off a fair amount of pigment while letting your natural color peek through. My lips are naturally very pale, making these glosses appear truer to color, so keep that in mind, because they will probably look very different on you. Both Coral Crush and Pink Grapefruit wore for just over 4 hours before I had to reapply, which in my experience is a pretty good track record for a lip gloss.

THE VERDICT
I’m in love with these glosses, despite their slight stickiness and the golden reflective caps that show fingerprints. The longevity is as good as I’d expect from this type of product, and the pigmentation makes the colors visible on the lips without stealing the spotlight from the rest of the makeup.
