Buckle up, ladies, we’re about to go to an adventure: Destination – Beauty! This month Ipsy has a super catchy theme, and a great selection of new samples to try. March 2014 Glam Bags contained only four products, but in this case it was quality over quantity, which I am perfectly fine with.

HOW IT WORKS

Each month subscribers will receive a new Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products customized according to your beauty profile. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using, all for only $10 a month.

Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer – sample vs full size

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready – The shade is just gorgeous, and it’s actually quite a bit pinker than pictures on bareMinerals’ own website. These lipsticks are among the brand’s best-selling products, however I’m probably not going to purchase any other colors, because this formula didn’t last very long on my lips, compared to my usual lippies.

NYX Love in Rio Eye Shadow Palette in Bikini Bottom – A few months back I sampled this palette in different colors via Beauty Box 5. This time I was actually hoping to get some fun colorful new shades to play with, however, I got a neutral one. The colors include silvery pink, bronze and deep bronze shades, which is a pretty nice set and it would look especially gorgeous on tanned skin. I have very similar colors from other brands in my collection, so I will be passing it on to a family member.

Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner – The packaging of this eyeliner visually reminds me of Eyeko 🙂 Chella says that this formula is water-resistant, smudge proof, quick drying and lasts all day, but from personal experience it was not water-resistant at all, and also it felt surprisingly dry for a liquid eyeliner. I wanted to like it, but unfortunately, the formula left a lot to be desired, and the shade didn’t flatter my complexion or eye color.

Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer – Actually, I already own a full-sized bottle of this primer, but I don’t cover my entire face with it. On those days when I need to add some glow to my skin I mix a few drops with my foundation, and gives me that lit from within look. Also, sometimes I would use it as a soft highlighter. [P.S.: I bet you’re sick with me babbling about truffles, but this primer actually contains truffle extract to tone and hydrate!]

THE VERDICT
I thought this bag was incredibly fun, and I can definitely see a lot of subscribers happy with their samples. Something I forgot to mention, this month’s bag was actually designed by a young artist Klari Reis, and the pattern is just a small piece of her San Francisco map. You can check more of her art at www.klariart.com
