Yuzen Box Unboxing and Review: Summer 2013

Finally, the box I have been anxiously waiting for all spring has arrived! In case you didn't know already, Yuzen is currently my favorite subscription. I always adore the carefully curated selection of products, great discounts, and even the packaging itself.

Everybody deserves a little "me time" now and then, and this box was loaded with products to help us unwind and enjoy a few quiet moments this summer.

About Yuzen Box:
Yuzen is a quarterly subscription service that costs $26/season. In your box you will receive a mix of eco-friendly, cruelty-free, natural and organic lifestyle and beauty products plus a sheet of authentic hand-crafted Yuzen paper (new paper every season, I thought it was a pretty cool touch). All products are either very generously deluxe-sized or full-sized. They ship USPS Priority mail so you only have to wait a couple days after receiving the shipping notification.

ACURE Argan Oil and Marula Oil
Which oil do you like more: argan or marula? I really can't decide, they're both wonderful! I have been using pure argan oil from Josie Maran, and couldn't believe how versatile it is. Both of these oils can be used as cleansers, moisturizers, eye creams, body oils, hair treatments and even for cooking!

JJ Sweets Sea Salt Cocomels
Mmm I love Cocomels! I have tried them before in one of my subscription boxes a couple months ago and they proved to me that not all caramels are created equal. These little sweet treasures are sweet and indulgent, and I can never stop at just one.

LEVEL Naturals Shower Bomb
I used to buy LUSH shower bombs a lot, but then I switched to bath bombs because I started taking shorter showers, less than it takes for the bomb to stop fizzing on the floor. It just felt like a waste, because these things are just a one-time use products, so I ended up wasting a lot in the end. Now, LUSH shower bombs are bigger than these little ones from LEVEL, so I decided to do a test and see how long it will take them to evaporate completely. Well, it took around 10 minutes, which is about the average time people take showers for. It only takes me 5-6 minutes tops, unless I'm exfoliating, so I feel like most of it will go to waste again. Since I have 3 bombs left, I will keep them for those times when I exfoliate so I can get the full benefits and not feel too guilty :)

PRITTE Moisturizing Body Lotion
This sample looks like the toiletries you would find at a fancy hotel or a SPA, so it totally makes sense to me that this lotion was included. The formula is super lightweight, and the fresh fragrance of aloe vera and honey makes me feel extra clean and pampered, like I just stepped out of the shower.

SUKI Luscious Berry Cream Trio
Wow, what a fantastic item to receive! I'm debating whether to use this lip palette myself or save it for gifting, because it would make a gorgeous gift for just about any woman in my life! The palette includes a beautiful trio of wearable and dramatic colors that can be worn on lips or cheeks, and Suki's bestseller repairing lip butter.

SpaRitual Nail Lacquer in Emerald City and Multi-Tasker Mini Base & Topcoat In One
I really feel like Yuzen actually cares about us, they even ship the nail polish minis together with the base&top coat, so that our nails stay healthy and glossy. SpaRitual polishes have wonderful fast-drying formulas, but this one is a bit sheer. If you're into jellies, this color will really work well for that! '

Action Wipes Large
These will come in handy during the hiking trips I have planned for this summer, and now I'm really looking forward to it! The wipes are re-usable, but I'm not sure what I'm going to re-purpose them for.

Phyt's Lait Hydro Nettoyant
All I can say is wow... this is the most luxurious cleanser I have ever used. Trust me, it doesn't feel like any other cream cleanser out there, and they all felt pretty much the same way for me before. This one just feels like creamy liquid silk, it enveloped my face and left it unbelievably soft while removing all traces of makeup. It's so gentle, that it doesn't irritate the skin at all, reduces the redness and heals dry patches. I will never look at my cleansers the same way again, after trying this one. Phyt's is a French brand that is very hard to find in the US, so I might be in trouble finding the store where I can buy it in the future.

And of course, Yuzen always graciously provides us with discount codes. Here they are:

The verdict: Another great box by Yuzen! The selection is fantastic as always, and the items are high
quality, and very much zen. I can't wait for the next box in August, and maybe will purchase the Favorites box as well when it's released.
